While many people associate a “diet” with trying to lose weight, the word diet just means what you eat. You can have a healthy diet or an unhealthy diet. What most refer to as a “diet” is a calorie restrictive diet intended to be short-term in order to lose a few pounds. It usually means eating celery and rice cakes for a few weeks, then going back to the same unhealthy habits that put those extra pounds on in the first place. Fortunately, eating healthy doesn’t have to mean bland food and always being hungry. If you eliminate the processed foods and added sugars, you can actually eat a lot more than you think, and it can be tasty!
